Prologue - End of Humanity
The cold glint of metallic steel in the dark was one of the last things Aiden saw before feeling a searing pain in his chest and falling to his knees.
Kneeling, he barely registered the sound of a firing gun as he found a more pressing concern in the new holes in his chest that weren't there before. Struggling to breathe, Aiden ended up falling face first on the floor of the dirty alley, slowly bleeding out.
